Maya Jama returns to 'Love Island' and addresses fan concerns
Maya Jama has been facing criticism from viewers who noticed she had only visited the Mallorca villa a few times this season
Maya Jama has responded to fans who questioned why she has not appeared often on the latest series of Love Island.
The TV presenter, who has hosted the ITV2 dating show since 2023, faced criticism from viewers who noticed she had only visited the Mallorca villa a few times this season.
Some fans even joked that she was taking a break or working on a "zero-hour contract." Maya has now replied to those claims on social media.
The 31-year-old shared photos of herself wearing a brown bikini and a beaded sarong before returning to the villa to announce the start of Casa Amor.
She wrote, "I heard you missed me... Back on your TV tonight at 9pm.
In the comments, Maya explained that her number of villa visits is not her decision.
She said: "Jokes aside, it's not up to me how often I enter the villa. I wasn't even on a break. I love it over there."
Fans quickly welcomed her back, with many saying they had missed seeing her on the show. One viewer wrote: "We missed you so much." Another called her outfit "hot."
Earlier, Maya had also told fans that she was looking forward to returning to the villa.
Since becoming the host in 2023, she has presented eight Love Island series, including four summer editions, three All Stars seasons, and one season of Love Island Games.
