Kanye West is set to perform in the Netherlands despite a series of moves to block his shows over his past controversies.

But as the Chicago rapper heads to the country, Arnhem — a city where he will perform — its mayor has a dramatic plea for him.

He urged Ye to lay a wreath at the city's Memorial of Names, a Holocaust museum, with the chief rabbi to publicly condemn antisemitism.

Mayor Ahmed Marcouch believes the gesture will send a strong message.

He told de Volkskrant that such a visit would be “a statement for a million-strong audience. A statement against antisemitism.”

Marcouch's remarks come after Jewish organizations had moved to Dutch courts to ban Ye.

However, the legal route ultimately dismissed the petitions.

With two shows in Arnhem, Ye is cleared to perform; a protest is still reportedly expected outside the venue.

According to the NL Times, nearly 100 people are expected to take part in the demonstration.

The Center for Information and Documentation Israel organizes the protest.

Authorities have designated a protest area away from the stadium's main entrance.

However, Marcouch has set guidelines for the demonstration.

He said, "We will not permit that. We must guarantee the safety of the 40,000 visitors."

West will perform in the Netherlands on June 6 and June 8.
