Denise Richards embraces single life after 'bitter' split from Aaron Phypers

Denise Richards is embracing the new chapter of her life following her split from Aaron Phypers.

Speaking to People magazine on Thursday, the 55-year-old actress said she enjoys her single life because she can now do what she loves.

"This is a whole new chapter for me in general. No one goes into a marriage thinking they're going to get divorced," Denise said.

"So, my whole life has changed on every level, but I feel so good and I'm just in such a happy place and happy to continue working and being able to do what I love to do," added the Wild Things actress.

For those unversed, Denise parted ways with Aaron last July after six years of marriage.

During the most recent season 15 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the Starship Troopers star opened up about her bitter split.

"It's really hard going through a divorce as it is, but then to have it so public....," said Denise. "I originally wanted everything to be private, but it takes two people in the divorce to feel that way, so I had to make hard decisions to have it be out there knowing that it would be out there."

"So it was a very hard decision, but I would like to — once I get through this a little bit more — be able to help other women who are in similar situations that I've been in too," she added.
