What Taylor Swift has to do with 'Toy Story 5'?
Taylor Swift sparks 'Toy Story 5' rumours after billboard campaign
Speculation around Toy Story 5 has heating up after new promotional billboards led to fan theories about a possible link to Taylor Swift.
The campaign shows large “TS” lettering, which fans quickly connected both to “Toy Story” and Swift’s initials. The design also has 13 cartoon clouds, a number long associated with Swift.
The combination has led to online debate over whether the design is a coincidence or a deliberate hint at her involvement in the upcoming Pixar sequel.
However, no official confirmation has been made by Disney or Swift’s representatives, both of whom have declined to comment on the speculation.
Some fans have even suggested more unusual crossover ideas, but none have been supported by studio announcements.
Toy Story 5 directors addressed the rumours in recent interviews, only denying a Taylor Swift song.
“The sad truth is, we watched the movie being mixed last week, done, and the song on the end of that was not Taylor Swift’s song,” director Andrew Stanton said in a video interview published Wednesday.
However, they did not comment on any other possible involvement. They added that the speculations, in fact, “surprised" them. "We’d be frickin’ honoured,” he remarked.
The assumptions gained traction months earlier when a countdown timer briefly appeared on Swift’s official website. Fans noted that its cloud design resembled visuals of the Toy Story franchise.
Further theories link the film’s release date, June 19, with Swift’s early career milestone, as it marks the anniversary of her debut single Tim McGraw. Some fans have connected this coincidence to potential musical or promotional tie-ins.
