Nancy Guthrie update: 'Money was not kidnappers first priority'
Nancy Guthrie's disappearance has sparked several theories as suspect(s) are at large
Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for over 100 days, baffled observers and investigators.
Now, a retired cop, Charles Brewer, who had a rich experience of over two decades, on his YouTube channel, dropped a chilling theory.
In his view, the presumed kidnapping was never about just the money.
“If somebody kidnaps for money, money usually becomes the priority,” the former officer said.
“But here the behavior feels chaotic, emotionally driven, and deeply personal.”
Then Brewer floated a string of possible motives for the alleged abductors: revenge or obsession.
“Why create this enormous national spectacle unless emotion mattered more than the money?” the retired investigator asked.
“What if the victim was not the original target emotionally?” Brewer asked.
“Sometimes hurting someone close becomes the objective.”
'Looking at wrong person'
Elsewhere in the interview, Brewer said the police may have been “looking at the wrong person all along.”
Savannah Guthrie, Nancy's daughter and a popular anchor, was, at first, described as a link for abductors.
“At first everybody believed this had to be connected directly to Savannah Guthrie—the fame, the money, the celebrity connection.“
However, Brewer said, "But now I’m starting to wonder if we’ve been looking in the wrong direction all along.”
Though the former officer shies away from not accusing Nancy's family members of involvement in presumed kidnapping.
However, Brewer added every angle should be examined.
Nancy has disappeared from her home near Tucson, Arizona, on Feb 1.
