'The Traitors' makes big record for season four finale
'The Traitors' season four is a non-celebrity version, as there is a celebrity version, too
Since season four, The Traitors, a reality show on BBC, has become one of the network's biggest hits, drawing in a strong viewership.
It is worth noting that the show has two versions: a celebrity and a non-celebrity one. The latter version has set a new record.
A report in Deadline states that 9.6 million viewers watched the finale of the reality TV drama, in which Stephen Libby and Rachel Duffy won, splitting the $130,000 prize.
Meanwhile, the record audience has yet to reach the peak. The Traitors, the celebrity version, had 11 million viewers in its last year's finale.
The report points out that The Traitors offers a glimpse into the influence that event television still has in the wake of the rise of cord-cutting.
Libby, one of the season four winners, is reportedly aiming to make his debut in showbiz. He has "all the ingredients" to make it in show business, an insider told The Sun.
"His fashion has been a real talking point and he’s clearly a good looking lad, who is articulate and charming. If he lands the right agent he could do very well out of The Traitors indeed," the source added.
"He’s the cast member you can see being on talent bookers' list – you can see him on MasterChef, quiz shows, and beyond," the insider shared.
Besides this report, Libby, when he won The Traitors finale, said, "I can't believe I've just won The Traitors. I'm just a wee boy from the Isle of Lewis. This kind of stuff doesn't really happen to me."
