Madelyn Keys pulls back curtain on 'Finding Her Edge' steamy scene
Madelyn Keys plays Adriana Russo in 'Finding Her Edge'
Finding Her Edge star Madelyn Keys is reflecting on filming steamy scenes with her costar, Olly Atkins.
In the figure-skating show, Keys plays Adriana Russo, Olly plays her first love Freddie O'Connell, whereas Cale Ambrozic portrays Adriana's fake boyfriend and ice-skating partner, Brayden Elliot.
"Ollie and I have a pretty steamy scene together as well. It's broken up into two separate scenes in the show, but we shot it all together as one scene, so each take was eight minutes," Keys told The Mirror US.
"The whole thing was lit by candles, and unlike a normal set, it was just us in the room and a camera op, as opposed to the dozens of people that are usually there," she explained.
She went on to praise the show’s intimacy coordinator, as well as "all of the intimacy coordinators working everywhere," saying, "They make it, you know, safe, comfortable and enjoyable for everybody, which makes it easier. There's no stress going into situations like that."
She also highlighted that actors need to trust each other and communicate about such scenes, "Asking your co-actors if there's anything they're uncomfortable with, or anything in particular that they want from you. And making sure that you do so in a safe environment."
She also got candid about having to do skating with Cale right after they met.
"The first time that we met, we were learning the choreography for the train dance scene in Episode 2, which can get a little sensual, and it was like, 'Hey, nice to meet you. I'm gonna be this close to your face right now. I hope I've had a mint,'" she joked.
