Prince William gets 'mobbed' by animals during rural engagement
Prince William stepped out for a rural farm engagement and highlighted key issues
Prince William visited a farm in his latest engagement and helped the farmers with their daily chores.
As a patron of We Are Farming Minds, William made a stop at the farm of John Bowler, who has been receiving help from the charity.
The Prince of Wales didn’t shy away from farmer duties and joined in on pruning apple trees, building a fence and feeding the sheep, and joking that he was in the "lumberjack zone."
As he pruned an apple tree, William got the higher and more difficult branches, saying, "It's going to be a tricky one up there!"
"It always gets harder the higher up you get," Bowler replied, per Hereford Times.
William soon faced an interlocking branch and said it was a "lumberjack moment" when it finally came down.
At the sheep pen, the father-of-three was received like the Prince he is and got "mobbed by the flock".
The Prince of Wales shared photos from the engagement to his and Princess Kate’s Instagram account, writing, "Visiting Herefordshire today to discuss farmers’ mental health. Proud to be Patron of We Are Farming Minds and to see its impact firsthand in the farming community. Farmers contend with multiple external pressures and considerable uncertainty, which makes supporting their mental health and wellbeing so important. Thank you to our hosts John and Laura for sharing their stories."
During his visit, Prince William showed support for the charity's mission of ending stigma around mental health in the farming community, and providing guidance to farmers about managing stress and pressure.
