Andrew Mountbatten Windsor could be exiled overseas: Report
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has to leave the Royal Lodge before Easter but not necessarily move to Norfolk
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s future hasn’t been decided yet.
While it’s been said that he will move to the King’s privately owned Sandringham estate, royal experts believe Andrew won’t be content with a simple and isolated life.
Andrew has been told to leave Royal Lodge, the 30-room Windsor mansion he has lived in for over two decades, before Easter. He is reportedly set to move to Marsh Farm, a modest property on the Sandringham estate.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson thinks that Andrew could instead opt for exile out of the country.
"The King saw the King of Bahrain the other day. One never knows — it could be a place where Andrew gets the recognition of being the second son of Queen Elizabeth, rather than this," he told People.
Jobson noted that Spain’s former King Juan Carlos I has also lived in Abu Dhabi since 2020.
"Other disgraced people have gone to the Middle East. Andrew did a lot of business in Bahrain, and he’s still relatively young," he said.
Royal biographer Andrew Lownie, also weighed in, saying, "He doesn't like the sound of being on the Sandringham estate, I think he wants to go somewhere where he can just get away from everything."
"I just can’t see him being on an isolated farm in Sandringham,” Jobson added of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
