Jelly Roll is reacting to the misinterpretation that his face tattoos are for the sake of attention.
In a recent cover story for Men's Health, the 41-year-old singer candidly spoke about the misconceptions linked to his face tattoos, revealing that the inks on his face do not reflect his personality instead, it's "the polar opposite."
“The way shame sometimes shows itself is not always the way we expect it to be. We think shame is somebody in the streets on their knees, with their head down. But shame sometimes is pride," he told the outlet.
As for what is the meaning behind these inked images is, he noted, "Behind real bravado, I can normally find shame. I can normally find guilt. I can normally find insecurity. I was the biggest, the loudest, the toughest, the meanest, the growliest, the fattest."
Jelly Role revealed that there was a "really, really small, insecure human" behind his walls.
"I was that, for sure. Then a by-product of that was I got fat as f***,” he added.
Elsewhere in the interview, Jelly Roll also opened up about his weight loss journey, revealing that he has been losing 9 and 15 lbs. every month. When he started shedding his mass he was around 480-560. He has shed almost 200 lbs last year.
