'Heated Rivalry' creator shares big update on upcoming sequel
Jacob Tierney opens up about the future of HBO Max series 'Heated Rivalry'
Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney has shared a major update about the second sequel of the HBO Max series.
During an appearance on the latest episode of the What Chaos! podcast, Jacob confirmed that he has not started writing the new episode.
“I mean, I’m definitely going to tune everything out when I start writing. I’m gonna have to,” he said.
He further said, “I’ve started my reread process, which is me reading a few books. And I know what I’m going to do, but I haven’t started writing yet."
"I’m actually just trying, it’s a bit counterintuitive for me, but trying to take a deep breath and have a bit of a Christmas vacation," continued Jacob. “Once I start actually writing, I’m going to have to tune everything out because I am getting lots of opinions."
The 46-year-old Canadian director added that despite the overwhelming success of the first season, the budget for season two will not change.
“We’re not going to have that much more money to make season two,” said Jacob. “When you make a show for this amount of money, people are like, ‘Oh my god, that’s amazing- do it again!’ Why would anybody want to spend more money if you didn’t do it the first time? Everybody will get paid."
"We didn’t make the show for nothing. We did okay with what we had," he added.
