Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are facing renewed scutiny over their royal titles and Prince William is being urged to strip them of their titles.
While former Prince Andrew has been strippedof his royal titles, his daughters continue to retain their titles of Princesses and Her Royal Highness.
Now, sources claim that once Prince William ascends to the throne, Eugenie and Beatrice may be first casualties.
The source told Radar Online, "Beatrice and Eugenie show up at family events, but they don't perform any official royal duties. The public sees their titles but doesn't see them contributing to the institution, which creates confusion."
Adding, "Their roles are more symbolic than practical. Nowadays, the public expects anyone with a royal title to play an active and meaningful part."
This comes as Prince William, the Prince of Wales has previously emphasized on the need to reform across monarchy. He told Eugene Levy, "Change is on my agenda... There are points when you look at tradition and go, Is that still fit for purpose today? Is that still the right thing to do?"
As per the insider, "The goal is to make a clear distinction between those who officially represent the Crown and those who are private family members. Beatrice and Eugenie fall into the latter group, so reviewing their titles makes sense."
They went on to add that this has nothing to do with any "personal issue" but it is about "updating the monarchy to improve public clarity and ensure financial accountability."
