'Supergirl' teaser shows Milly Alcock in different light than Superman
Milly Alcock in no way looks similar to David Corenswet's Superman in the latest clip of 'Supergirl'
Supergirl's official trailer is set to drop this week. To build anticipation, James Gunn released a clip of the upcoming movie that gives a first look at Milly Alcock as the superhero.
At first glance, it's noticeably clear that the Kryptonite native is different from her cousin Kal-El.
The clip shows the House of the Dragon breakout star not in her superhero outfit but in a casual look, including a coat, jeans, and sunglasses.
Meanwhile, ahead of her stand-alone film, she had made her entry in the DC universe. Starting first with Superman, followed by a brief cameo in Peacemaker season two.
Moreover, the universe James, along with his co-DC creator Peter Safran, is building; Milly's Supergirl fits, in his words, perfectly.
That's one of the reasons the director of Superman described the casting as “might be the best I’ve ever done.”
James also previously shared in his universe that the stories will connect in different ways. In this light, he added, "Supergirl especially is a space adventure. It's like Guardians. Lanterns is its own thing."
"There's just a longer, sort of a bigger world we're building with all these different pieces and they do all come together and intersect sometimes in a story fashion and sometimes just in a, you know, 'Here's another piece of the world' fashion."
Supergirl will hit theatres on June 26, 2026.
