Trump launches new attack on Jimmy Kimmel
Trump revives feud with Jimmy Kimmel while presenting Kennedy Center honours
Donald Trump has reignited his long-running feud with Jimmy Kimmel one month later.
Trump, 79, made the latest remarks on Saturday in the Oval Office ahead of the 2025 Kennedy Center Honorees.
The official gala, which Trump will host on Sunday, marks the first time a sitting president has taken on hosting duties.
“We have never had a president hosting the awards before,” the US president began before dismissing the late-night host as "horrible," per Deadline.
“I’m sure they’ll give me great reviews, right? They’ll say he [Trump] was horrible, he was terrible. It was a horrible situation. No, we’ll do fine.”
He then pivoted to late-night television. “I watched some of the people that host. Jimmy Kimmel was horrible,” Trump added. “If I can’t beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent, then I don’t think I should be president.”
Kimmel previously appeared at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012 to salute David Letterman.
Kimmel's history with Trump has grown more contentious recently, intensifying after Jimmy Kimmel Live! was suspended for six days in September following comments he made after Charlie Kirk’s death.
Trump also previously mocked Kimmel for being “fired for lack of talent,” and later attacked him on Truth Social as a “man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS,” urging, “Get the bum off the air!!!”
