‘Hugger’ Meghan Markle receives an unlikely ally
Meghan Markle receives a shocking amount of support in a rare turn of events
Meghan Markle just received a shocking ally, in the form of former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond.
She came to Meghan Markle’s defense, over claims that her uptight behavior with staff hinted at pompousness.
What is pertinent to mention is that this is in relation to Meghan’s visit to a friend’s house in the Upper East Side of New York City, during the Humanitarian of the Year awards.
As reported by Harpers Baazar, at the time a house manager announced her as ‘Meghan, Duchess of Susssex’ despite there being no one present at the home.
With that in mind, in her conversation with The Mirror Ms Bond explained, “it sounds so absurd, given the context that this was the second time the interviewer was meeting Meghan, and the first had been so relatively informal, sharing burger and chips at a restaurant.”
That is why she admits “I suspect that this was simply a house manager getting overly pompous about the fact that there was a Duchess in the house.”
Especially since “Americans tend to get very excited about titles.”
One aspect she also brought to light was that “this was at a friend’s home and the staff were probably over-zealous.”
Plus “it simply doesn’t sound like the huggy, friendly Meghan we see portrayed elsewhere. So, I don’t think we should start criticising Meghan for this,” she added before signing off too.
