Gavin Casalegno shares views on Jeremiah's new romance in 'TSITP'

Gavin Casalegno has shared his honest doubts about Jeremiah and Denise's dynamics.

In a new interview with Us Weekly, Casalegno, 26, weighed in on Jeremiah's budding romance with Denise, played by Isabella Briggs, following his broken engagement to Belly, portrayed by Lola Tung, Jenny Han's The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Sharing his candid thoughts, the actor explained why he thinks Denise may actually be a better fit for Jeremiah.

“I think Denise does see Jeremiah in a different light,” he began.

“Belly growing up with Jeremiah, there’s like a little bit of familiarity that might have stunted things,” he added.

Casalegno said he can understand why newcomer Denise seems to click with Jeremiah, noting that their dynamic brings out different layers of the character.

“Denise is more real and brings different parts of Jeremiah out of him,” he added.

“But I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing,” he continued after which he moved on to a new topic.
