Chase Stokes breaks silence on split as fans question Kelsea Ballerini reunion
Chase Stokes says he’s 'blocked' as Kelsea Ballerini reunion rumours fade
Chase Stokes suggested he may have been “blocked” by ex-girlfriend Kelsea Ballerini, even as recent sightings had fueled talk of a possible reconciliation.
In a since-deleted Instagram Story shared Thursday, the Outer Banks actor wrote, “Don’t believe the media,” according to Cosmopolitan. He continued, “I’m blocked, I did nothing wrong,” adding, “Sorry. I tried.”
Stokes, 33, followed up with another post: “I’m sorry for those who believed in us. It is what it is. Onwards and upwards.” He did not mention Ballerini by name.
The pair reportedly ended their relationship in September after nearly three years together. A source told People magazine, “They’re two adults who gave it their all and tried to do everything they could to make it work, but ultimately couldn’t. It happens.”
Both unfollowed each other on Instagram soon after, despite recently celebrating Ballerini’s 32nd birthday. Stokes had shared a warm tribute at the time, writing, “Although you keep saying you’re not excited for 32, id (sic) say I’m lookin forward to more of this.”
Despite their split, Stokes and the country singer had recently stirred speculation when Us Weekly reported that they appeared “very much loved-up” while traveling in Scotland earlier this month.
One local told the outlet the exes “seemed like the sweetest people” during a visit to a bar near Edinburgh Castle.
“He was very nice. We had a wee chat about how he was having a holiday in Scotland before going to Croatia to film the final season of Outer Banks,” the eyewitness said, noting the actor also posed for photos with fans.
The pair were later reportedly spotted together in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
