‘Home Alone’ star Daniel Stern hospitalised
Daniel Stern, famous for ‘Home Alone’ pack trip to hospital after emergency
Daniel Stern, best known for playing the bumbling burglar Marv in Home Alone, was rushed to the emergency room earlier this month but is now recovering well.
As per TMZ, the incident occurred on October 7, when the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a medical emergency at a residence in Somis, California.
According to officials, the individual, later confirmed to be Daniel, was assessed by firefighters and then taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
While the exact nature of the medical issue hasn’t been disclosed, sources confirmed that the actor has since been released. A representative for Stern later assured fans that he is “doing well” following the scare.
Beyond his unforgettable role in Home Alone, the 67-year-old actor is also known for his performances in City Slickers and as the voice of Kevin Arnold in the beloved TV series The Wonder Years.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Stern reflected on life away from Hollywood and the simple joy he finds in being “grandpa” to his growing family.
“I've got six grandkids now and another one coming, and I'm like, ‘Okay, well, who are these people going to think I am?’” he said with a laugh. “They know me as grandpa.”
He joked that someday his grandchildren might discover his iconic movie moments, adding, “At some point, they're going to see these movies, or their kids might see the movies — and that’s a mindblower — that they're going to see grandpa get pelted with a brick.”
Now living a peaceful life on a ranch in California’s Central Valley, Stern has distanced himself from the spotlight.
Yet he remains reflective about his time in the industry and its impact on young actors. Speaking about his Home Alone co-star Macaulay Culkin, he noted how fame at such a young age can be difficult to handle.
“Can you imagine being a 12-year-old kid and people investing that in you? And then living your life? ... I mean, he's managed his life brilliantly,” Stern said.
While his days of holiday chaos may be behind him, fans can rest assured that the beloved Home Alone star is safe, healthy, and enjoying his role as the ultimate grandpa.
