United States President Donald Trump has announced the Gaza ceasefire plan to end Israel’s genocidal onslaught against Palestine. Now, world leaders are reacting to the proposed plan for peace in the middle east.

Trump announced the plan on Monday, September 29, some of the key points include:

  • Demilitarization of Gaza
  • Return of all hostages, deceased or alive, within 72-hours of Israel accepting the proposal
  • Israel would not annex Gaza
  • Dialogue between Israel and Palestine to find a solution for peaceful co-existence
  • Phased withdrawal of Israel from Gaza
  • International Body known as Body of Peace led by Trump to administer post-war Gaza
  • Hamas would be barred from participating in Gaza’s governance
  • New government to be made up of Palestinians and international experts

Surprisingly, Trump’s proposal did not include any plan for illegally detained Palestinians.

World leaders are now reacting to the ceasefire proposal with many expressing support.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyanu expressed support, adding, “But if Hamas rejects your plan, Mr. President, or if they supposedly accept it and then basically do everything to counter it, then Israel will finish the job by itself.”

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also welcomed the plan, stating, “I welcome President Trump’s 20-point plan to ensure an end to the war in Gaza. I am also convinced that durable peace between the Palestinian people and Israel would be essential in bringing political stability and economic growth to the region.”

He added, “It is also my firm belief that President Trump is fully prepared to assist in whatever way necessary to make this extremely important and urgent understanding to become a reality."

PM Sharif continued, "I laud President Trump’s leadership and the vital role played by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in bringing an end to this war. I also strongly believe that the implementation of the two state proposal is essential to ensure lasting peace in the region.”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also showed support, saying, “We welcome President Donald Trump's announcement of a comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza. It paves the way for peace, security, and sustainable long-term development for both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples, as well as for the entire West Asia region.”

He continued, “We hope that all concerned parties will unite behind President Trump's initiative and support this effort to end the conflict and establish peace.”

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, “Australia welcomes President Trump’s plan to bring peace to Gaza after almost two-years of conflict and devastating loss of civilian life.”

He added, “Together with our partners, Australia will continue to work towards a just and sustainable two-state solution.”

This comes amid ongoing Israel’s onslaught against Palestinians. According to the latest reports, so far over 70,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel.
