WhatsApp is expected to announce a feature that will allow users to mute call-out notifications within group chats.

This feature was initially discovered in a beta version and addresses the common annoyance of receiving notifications for messages intended for the group, particularly when the message is irrelevant to the user.

WhatsApp continues to evolve with early features appearing in the beta version, such as voice messages for missed calls and the ability to call attention to all users in a group chat.

It appears that WhatsApp is considering introducing a feature that will allow users in a group chat to mute specific types of notifications.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature was discovered in the latest beta in version 2.25.27.1 via the Google Play Store.

Once this feature is implemented, users will have the capability to completely mute these types of notifications, including callouts in a group chat.

It has been observed that WhatsApp got the inspiration for this feature from Slack.

While being able to mute notifications in a group chat is an absolute must, it is beneficial when you are not actively engaged with the content.

These applications could be great for private conversations, work and schools.

Additionally, this will only be available for those in beta, which any Android user can join through the Google Play Store.

This feature is still being explored and will likely find its way to the public version of the app eventually.
