‘Harry Potter’ star takes on major role in ‘Hunger Games’ series
Ralph Fiennes teams up with Maya Hawke, Joseph Zada in ‘Sunrise of Reaping’
Ralph Fiennes, known for his hit role of Voldemort in the Harry Potter films landed on a key role in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping series.
The Conclave actor, keeping up with playing famous negative characters like Amon Goeth from Schindler’s List or Hades from Clash of the Titans is now casted as the villainous President Coriolanus Snow. Reported by Variety.
The formidable leader of Panem has previously been portrayed by Donald Sutherland in the original four films, and in his younger years by Tom Blyth in 2023's A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
Fiennes' Snow will fall between the two, 40 years after the events of A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and 24 years before Katniss Everdeen’s time in the arena.
The Oscar nominee will be starring alongside Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak, Mckenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Maya Hawke, Kelvin Harrison Jr, Lili Taylor and Ben Wang as Wyatt.
Francis Lawrence, who has helmed every instalment of the franchise since 2012’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, will direct from a screenplay adaptation by Billy Ray.
Fiennes is also set to appear in Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later. Meanwhile, the film adaptation of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will be released on November 20, 2026.
