Jenna Ortega stepped out in a look that instantly sparked conversation, not just for its boldness but for its roots.

Wearing a reimagined version of the iconic "naked dress" made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker in both Sex and the City and the 1997 VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards, the Gen Z actress paid tribute to a millennial TV icon.

The Wednesday star dived into the archive of early 2000s fashion lore and emerged with one of Carrie Bradshaw’s most defining outfits, reinterpreting '90s and early 2000s fashion through a nostalgic yet modern lens.

Earlier this week, the actress attended an afterparty for the premiere of her upcoming film Hurry Up Tomorrow, paying homage to Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw, a couple of days after debuting her first Sex and the City-coded number on the red carpet.

The iconic naked dress sported by the 22-year-old was a slightly more saturated pink version of what Parker had in episode six of the hit series' first season.

Enjoying the party with her Hurry Up Tomorrow co-star, The Weeknd, Ortega layered a long oatmeal-coloured fur coat over the minidress and added a few inches to her frame with strappy metallic pumps.

Her stylist Enrique Melendez took to Instagram Stories, writing, "Thanks for giving me my Sex in the City liiiife and playing along @jennaortega, no matter how annoying I get. And @dkny for the most iconic dress fto out and about in NYC!"

Before her latest nod, Ortega made headlines with her New York premiere red carpet look earlier in the day, during which she wore the beloved newspaper dress from John Galliano’s Dior fall 2000 collection, pulled straight from the HBO show.
