Prince George faces separation from siblings, parents as key date looms
Prince William, Kate Middleton’s son George awaits life-changing decision
Prince William and Princess Kate's firstborn, Prince George, sets to experience a life-changing decision in the coming days of 2025.
For the unversed, there is a royal protocol which stops two heirs of the throne from travelling together in the same plane.
The second in line to the crown, Prince George, who is turning 12 this July, will face separation from his father, the first in line in order to "safeguard the Royal lineage."
According to the Mirror, a TikTok video went viral where a user explained the royal tradition, raising debate among the users.
One user explained, "If they were both on the same plane and something terrible happened – then there wouldn't be a successor."
Another TikToker said, "It has always been Royal protocol, however, since William's children were born, the protocol hasn't been followed, and they fly with the kids."
Earlier, King Charles' former pilot, Graham Laurie, gave rare details about the royal protocol during an interview with Hello! Magazine.
While recalling an old event, he said, "Interestingly, we flew all four: the Prince, the Princess, Prince William and Prince Harry, up until Prince William was 12 years old."
"After that, he had to have a separate aircraft and we could only fly all four together when they were young with the written permission of Her Majesty [the late Queen Elizabeth II]. When William became 12, he would fly normally in a 125 from Northolt, and we would fly the 146 out with the other three on," he shared.
