BTS ARMY lambasts Paris Gala for 'double standards'
BTS ARMY call out Paris Gala for disrespecting the J Hope
BTS ARMY didn’t hesitate to call out Paris Gala for disrespecting their beloved K-pop idol J Hope.
J Hope from BTS attended the Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes on January 23, along with other K-pop artists, including Rose from BLACKPINK and G-Dragon from BIGBANG.
Though J Hope, whose real name is Jung Ho-Seok, was personally invited by France’s First Lady to open the show, the organizers stunned the fans with inconsiderate behaviour.
Throughout the event and J Hope’s performance, his fans showed off their unwavering support, filling the arena with purple light sticks.
However, afterward, the eagle-eyed fans noticed that the On the Street singer’s name was removed from the performer’s list not just once but multiple times.
The ARMY didn’t appreciate the organizers' move and flooded social media with posts expressing disrespect.
Fans’ online protests sparked a major controversy over the Paris Gala, leading to a sudden change in the tone of the charity event's organizers.
The team was quick to make changes to their official videos, referring to J Hope as the King of K-pop, leaving fans astonished at the sudden narrative shift.
"They went from barely announcing him properly before or during the show to his name and photo being first on every new social media post," noted a fan at X, formerly Twitter.
"'King of K-pop, J-Hope of BTS' the introduction they gave our hobi. As they should," remarked another on Tuesday, January 28.
"Such double standard they have. Once they land in hotter waters, they didn’t spare a moment to make the changes in J Hope’s intro, Hypocrites!" wrote a third fan.
Meanwhile, many pointed out that the organisers must have realized their grave mistake for disregarding J Hope, 30.
Notably, the charity event in Paris marked J Hope’s first prominent event and solo stage performance since his discharge from mandatory military service on October 16.
