Queen Camilla's son voices concern amid reports of her 'utter devastation'
Queen Camilla perseveres through health struggles, balancing duty and recovery
Queen Camilla's resilience has once again come to the fore as her son, Tom Parker-Bowles, shared insights into her recent health challenges.
The Queen, who has been recovering from pneumonia since returning from a royal tour of Australia and Samoa, resumed her duties earlier than recommended, according to her eldest son.
"She went back to work before she should have done, but she’s fine," Tom revealed.
"She’s tough and absolutely hates missing things like Remembrance Sunday, which is a very important day for her."
The 49-year-old food writer and critic praised his mother’s work ethic, emphasizing that her role as Queen has only amplified her already diligent approach.
"She works harder than ever now," he noted.
Speaking candidly, the Queen’s son revealed that while his mother has taken on an even greater workload since ascending to her new role, her unwavering dedication remains unchanged.
"Nothing’s really changed about her except her workload," Parker-Bowles shared, noting that he often learns of her overseas royal visits by catching them on television.
Despite battling a chest infection after a royal tour, Camilla returned to work earlier than advised—a decision driven by her deep sense of duty.
Her absence from the recent Remembrance Sunday service, which holds profound importance for her, left her “utterly devastated,” he revealed.
"It’s a hugely significant day for her, and missing it was incredibly difficult."
The family’s struggles extend beyond the Queen’s health, as King Charles continues treatment for cancer, which was diagnosed earlier this year.
Despite the diagnosis, Parker-Bowles confirmed the King is responding well to treatment. "Doctors say it’s going well," he shared, offering reassurance about the monarch’s progress.
Reflecting on the challenges, the food writer acknowledged the profound impact of recent events. "The older you get, the more conscious you become of mortality, especially when faced with illnesses," he told the Daily Telegraph.
