Dwayne Johnson widely known as The Rock has confessed having special connection to his popular film series Moana.
Johnson, who lent his vocals for the character of 'Maui', revealed that the famous Disney film means a lot to him.
He further admitted that playing 'Maui' was a life changing experience for him.
The Hobbs and Shaw actor, in a statement, told Hello! magazine Britain how much the role means to him.
“So much. Getting to play Maui has been life changing for me.”
“The experience over these two movies goes way deeper than any other character I’ve played”, the professional wrestler continued, while adding, “This is my culture. He is part of me.”
Furthermore, Dwayne unveiled the real reason behind his special connection to Moana.
He claimed: “The character of Maui is actually inspired by grandfather, who was High Chief Peter Maivia. It means so much to me.”
Backed by Walt Disney Studios, Moana is family adventure animated flick released in 2016. The second sequel has just dropped in cinemas on November 27, 2024.
The film also features Nicole Scherzinger, Alan Tudyk, Rose Matafeo and others.
