Machine Gun Kelly to join Gwen Stefani on the NBC reality singing competition show ‘The Voice’
Machine Gun Kelly is coming to The Voice.
MGK is slated to join Gwen Stefani on the singing competition show on Tuesday, Nov. 19, serving as her playoff advisor, People revealed.
A clip shared with the outlet from the episode featured the More Than Life singer offering some sound advice to contestant Jake Tankersley during his practice session.
“You have a good smile so maybe crack a smile on that and let people know they can be close to you,” Kelly advised the competitor.
“When you have any moment when there is no lyrics though, because there is so many words, step away from the mic and play your guitar.”
“It's all about the feel. You have a wife and kids, they bring the colour to your life so it's all feel,” the 34-year-old added.
Kelly then asked Tankersley who his inspiration from the country genre was, “image-wise,” to which Tankersley responded, “Johnny Cash.”
“Of course, bro. I think you should come like that on the show. Do like Johnny Cash. That's the first thing I thought,” the rocker said.
Stefani also got candid about working with MGK.
“He has such an identity as far as self-style and the way he puts himself out there with his artistry and creativity. He's bold,” she said. “He sees things from a fresh perspective.”
