Amy Adams reveals prediction she made for her ‘Superman’ role
Amy Adams praises Rachel Brosnashan on giving a new look to Lois Lane: 'I love her.'
Amy Adams, who starred as Lois Lane in three DCEU films, always knew her Superman days were numbered.
In a candid interview with Variety, the Enchanted actress shared her thoughts about reprising her character following the 2017's Justice League.
"I always understood they were moving in a more Justice League direction,” the Nocturnal Animals star told the outlet.
The Oscar-nominated actress also expressed that there were no hard feelings about passing the torch to Rachel Brosnahan.
“Coming from theatre, a role never belongs to you, you just do a take on it. That's how I feel about that franchise."
Moreover, Adams shared her excitement for the James Gunn-led project.
“I’m just a big fan of the franchise, always," she said.
Meanwhile, Adams also expressed her expectations for the Blacklist star, who is understood to give a new look to Lois Lane.
“I love her. She’s gonna be great,” Adams told the outlet.
"Hopefully the role will be infused with her sensibility and her natural humour and strength and wit.” she continued. “I’m really looking forward to it. I really like her.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Adams also took a moment to laud her co-star and the titular Man of Steel from their franchise, Henry Cavill.
“Henry was a really brilliant Superman. I offer every Superman luck and stuff, but I think he was great. I just wanted to say that. It’s so in his spirit.”
Cavill will also not be returning in the new franchise following the revamp of the DC Comics Universe by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The reboot is slated for release in July 2025.
