Duchess Sophie gives new tension to Kate Middleton with new title

Princess Kate is said to be under stress as Duchess Sophie achieved a major milestone.

According to GB, the Duchess of Edinburgh has increased her royal engagements amid Kate Middleton's absence since her cancer diagnosis.

The Court Circular, the official record that lists the engagements carried out by the working members of the royal family, reveals that Sophie has "doubled her workload in the past year" since King Charles and Kate's cancer announcement.

The Duchess of Edinburgh has doubled her workload amid Princess Kate's absence, according to new claims.

The news outlet reports, "So far this month, Sophie has carried out 37 engagements, compared to 18 engagements in September 2023."

Notably, Prince Edward's wife made it to the headlines recently for her visit to Tanzania, Africa to promote the monarch's commonwealth mission.

During her tour, King Charles paid a heartfelt tribute to the "hardworking" Sophie in a letter specially written for her. 

Charles's message reads, "As patron of one of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness's members, Sightsavers, and knowing that the Duchess of Edinburgh is with you today in Tanzania, I particularly wanted you all to know how full of admiration and gratitude I am for your passion and devoted efforts in treating and preventing neglected tropical diseases, especially trachoma."

"Your constant dedication and hard work will lead us to a world where inclusion and equality can be realised across our Commonwealth," the King said. 

It is pertinent to mention that Duchess Sophie carried out almost 114 engagements last year, becoming the fourth hardest-working royal member.
