Princess Anne leaves fans stunned as she makes first appearance since injuries
Princess Royal seen for first time since her head injuries
King Charles III's sister Princess Anne has returned to work for the first time since being hospitalised with head injuries in an accident.
The 73-year old, who had left her fans in shock with her hospitalization after an incident involving horse, made the first step in a "phased return" to public duty with a visit to one of her treasured charities.
The Princess of Royal's outing comes almost three weeks after she was concussed with head wounds consistent with being struck by a horse while out walking on her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire.
In her first appearance, she attended a charity, the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), which is hosting its annual National Championships. The RDA is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year and Her Royal Highness has been the Patron of it since November 1971.
Princess Anne was all smiles and in high spirits as she returned to royal duties amid King Charles and Princess Kate's health woes.
Following her shocking incident, that sparked concerns about her health, Buckingham Palace confirmed that on doctor’s advice, Anne's engagements would be cancelled until further notice. Anne was unable to carry out a scheduled trip to Canada following the injuries.
The Princess met Helena Vega Lozano, the RDA UK chairman, and Michael Bishop, the charity’s chief executive, before joining supporters in the arena. She also presented awards to the winners.
The RDA National Championship, held over three days, is the biggest equestrian event of its kind for disabled competitors, who take part in dressage, vaulting, endurance showjumping, carriage driving, performance showing and countryside challenge classes.
