Rebel Wilson hits roadblock with fianceé’s parents over cultural differences

Rebel Wilson recently opened up about meeting her future in-laws following her engagement with Ramona Agruma.

Speaking exclusively to Today.com on Tuesday, June 11, the 44-year-old author shared her thoughts on meeting Agruma’s mother in person.

Wilson, who has been engaged for more than a year now, said that cultural differences have played a vital role in delaying the meeting.

Opening up about her partner’s European upbringing, Wilson said: "Ramona was born in Latvia, and it’s not as ‘Pride-friendly’ as other countries are."

"I just think some people need a bit more time — and some people won’t ever come around to it, and that’s fine, and that’s their decision. There are still parts of the world that aren’t as accepting," she added.

However, the Pitch Perfect alum expressed excitement for her upcoming meeting in Europe.

She said: "I’m really excited to meet them because I know they are very smart. Ramona’s mother is a doctor."

The author credited her and Argruma’s 19-month-old daughter Royce Lillian for making their meeting more manageable.

The Bridesmaid alum confirmed: “Roycie is the real icebreaker — they’ve been FaceTiming with her.”

For the unversed, Rebel and Ramona welcomed Royce via surrogate in November 2022.
