Hugh Jackman opens about returning to film after split: 'Does my head in'
Hugh Jackman shares difficulty of big screen return
Hugh Jackman has opened up about the challenges he faced while preparing to reprise his role as the iconic superhero Wolverine in the latest Deadpool film.
The Australian actor, known for his portrayal of the clawed mutant, returns to the franchise in Deadpool & Wolverine. At 55 years old, Jackman admits that as he ages, training to embody the muscular character has become more demanding than ever.
Speaking to People magazine, the Free Guy actor revealed, "The hardest bit... was the food."
Jackman explained, "I have to eat a lot. For me, for my body type, I'm naturally skinny.
To get the size on, that's the hardest bit. That's the bit that does my head in."
He reflected on his physical readiness for the role, acknowledging that while his body initially felt sore, he was gratified to see it still responding well to training. "And I realised how good it is for your brain," he added.
In September, he stunned fans with the announcement of his separation from Deborra-Lee Furness after 27 years of marriage.
The couple stated that they had chosen to part ways "to pursue our individual growth." They are parents to two adopted children, son Oscar, 24, and daughter Ava, 18.
