Selena Gomez felt ‘tortured’ by singlehood after Justin Bieber breakup
Selena Gomez also revealed she planned on adopting a child by herself before she met Benny Blanco
Selena Gomez initially had a difficult time adjusting to the single life, but eventually accepted it.
In fact, the Single Soon hitmaker revealed that she even had a plan laid out for single motherhood by adopting a child if she had not met anyone by the age of 35.
During the Time 100 Most Influential Companies event, the 31-year-old actress and musician reflected, “I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it.”
She then admitted, “A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone.” But soon, she “kind of accepted it.”
The Only Murders In The Building star then revealed that she’s had her mind on family planning for some time now.
“Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone,” she shared.
But fate had other plans, as Gomez soon found love in her now-boyfriend, Benny Blanco, in the summer of 2023.
Recently, Blanco shared his own desire to start a family as soon as possible.
“It’s always a topic of conversation to me everyday,” the 36-year-old music producer revealed on the Howard Stern Show earlier this month.
“That’s my next goal, to check the box,” Blanco declared, further explaining, “I have a ton of godkids; I’ve got a ton of nephews. I love being around kids.”
When host Stern noted that he sees marriage in the young lovebirds’ future, Blanco responded, “You and me both.”
