Now Android users with older phones can also enjoy Google's Gemini Chabot, News 18 reported.
In a recent update, many users have reported that the latest version of Google Gemini APK is compatible with older devices running on Android 10 and Android 11.
Even though the company’s official support page says that to use the Gemini app, you need to have Android 12 or higher, it seems like the company has secretly updated its policies.
Until now, users with Android 10 or 11 could only use the web version of the AI chatbot, but thanks to the latest update, Gemini will now be available to millions of users who are using an old phone.
Once installed, Google Gemini will replace the company’s existing feature-packed Google Assistant, but the AI chatbot still uses the old digital assistant to handle certain commands.
In February, Google replaced its current Google Assistant software with a specialised Gemini AI app for Android handsets. Nevertheless, the software could only be used with Android 12 and later at the time of availability.
Android 10 was introduced in 2019, and Android 11 was unveiled a few months after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Over the past several months, Google has been working hard to bring new features to Gemini.
