VIDEO: Cody Rhodes beats Roman Reigns, wins WrestleMania 40
American Nightmare wins WWE universal championship at WrestleMania XL with help from John Cena and The Undertaker
Cody Rhodes finally finishes "The Bloodline" story after winning the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Universal Championship at WrestleMania XL, defeating Roman Reigns, USA Today reported.
The first night of WrestleMania 40 was a tag team match between Rhodes and Seth Rollins against Reigns and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
After suffering a defeat on Saturday, the story continued to Sunday. The title match was labelled "Bloodline Rules," meaning Reigns had the entire Bloodline backing him up.
On the second night, Rhodes had some surprises up his sleeve, the first person to come help Rhodes was Jey Uso.
After Uso came John Cena, who assisted Rhodes in fight against Solo Sikoa and Reigns.
Unfortunately for Cena, The Rock made an entrance defeating him and Seth Rollins.
As The Rock and Reigns were about to claim victory, The Undertaker showed up, putting The Rock in his place and helping Rhodes finish off the story.
And with that Cody Rhodes, for the first time in his career, won the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.
This wasn’t the first time Rhodes and Reigns faced off. Their last match was at WrestleMania 39, where Rhodes lost to Reigns.
