FRI(END)S by Kim Tae-hyung, who is widely known by his professional name V, has already claimed the top spot in the iTunes Top Song charts in 87 countries within the span of 24 hours since its release.
According to The Korea Times, BigHit Music, the agency of the BTS band member, reported on Saturday, March 16, that the solo digital single also nabbed the number one position on the Worldwide iTunes Song and European iTunes Song charts as of 8 a.m.
The recent single, written entirely in English, was released on Friday, March 15, accompanied by a music video, which has crossed 6.7 million views on YouTube.
The music video also topped the charts and was deemed a trending video on YouTube in various countries upon its release.
Additionally, FRI(END)S’ release has marked the 29-year-old South Korean singer’s first single since debut solo album Layover hit the music platforms in September.
The latest musical feast is described as a sweet all-English love song featuring one’s love confession to a friend.
