Justin Bieber declined Usher’s Super Bowl offer, but that doesn’t mean the two will never work together again.

Following Justin Bieber's first performance of the year at the 2024 NHL All-Star Game earlier this month, there was a lot of word that the Canadian pop sensation might show up unexpectedly for Usher's Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show.

Usher has finally disclosed why that moment never materialised, despite the hoopla around it.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Usher acknowledged that he tried to get in touch with Bieber and almost everybody", but the singer turned him down.

I honor and recognize the fact that my brother… I think it might have just been that he’s just wanting to tell a different story right now, and I did understand that,” Usher said in the teaser clip. “We did have a brief conversation, and we’re gonna do something else in the future.”

Usher continued, “No love lost or anything like that. It’s a lot of pressure for the Super Bowl, obviously, for me to put together a show. I reached out to everybody. Justin wasn’t the only person I spoke to about doing the Super Bowl, but the moment was maybe for later.”

Bieber was supposed to start his "Justice" global tour in 2022, but the journey was eventually called off so that the singer could return and concentrate on his health.

Bieber's professional association with Usher dates back to their early days together in the music industry. The song Somebody to Love, which can be found on Justin Bieber's debut album, is also shared by them.

Usher seemed to vow that “[Bieber is] going to play the Super Bowl… I’ll go ahead and give you that for the future. I profess that over his life because he has a career that deserves it. It just didn’t happen, but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to.”
