Cher's young beau didn't get singer's references: 'I wasn't born yet'

Cher and her 40 year younger beau Alexander “A.E.“ Edwards have a lot of “Love and Understanding“ even if he fails to understand what she's saying.

The 77-year-old superstar talked up about dating someone 40 years younger in a new interview with Extra.

“I hate to talk about how happy I am, but no, we have a great time together. We can talk music,” Cher told Extra.

“We can talk about everything. He's got a great sense of humor, he's got the cutest son in the world, ever. We just get each other.”

The singer continued to make light of the age difference while disclosing Edwards' reaction to her references: “Sometimes I'm talking to him and he has no idea who I'm talking about.”

“The other day, I said, ‘Do you know who, I don't know, Clark Gable, [is]?’ He said, ‘Yes, of course,’ but most of my references… He'll look at me and go, ‘I wasn't born yet’.”

The Believe“ singer and Edwards initially ignited dating rumours after they were pictured holding hands in November 2022.

Cher also told People magazine how, so far, the principle of opposites attracting has been true for her.

“Alexander’s got diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair, and he’s way younger. He’s a beautiful man,” she said.
