Margot Robbie channels vintage ‘Barbie’ for red carpet in South Korea
Margot Robbie has been opting to looks inspired by the iconic Barbie doll for each one of the premieres
Margot Robbie channelled Barbie from the ’80s as she served two iconic looks for the premiere held in Seoul, South Korea on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023.
Robbie, 33, who plays the titular role in the Greta Gerwig film, perfectly recreated Day-to-Night Barbie doll, which was originally released by Mattel in 1985.
Styled by Andrew Mukamal, for her day look, Robbie exuded executive business vibes in a pink Versace skirt suit. The ensemble consisted of a bubble-gum pink pencil skirt, a matching blazer with white lapels and detailing, two-tone pink-and-white heels by Manolo Blahnik, and a white wide-brimmed hat with a polka-dot adornment, via Glamour.
Apart from her small pink top-handle purse, Robbie also carried a Judith Leiber clutch which looked like a retro-style brick phone, which was entirely covered in hot-pink rhinestones.
For her second attire, the actress changed into a Versace midi-length dress, composed of metallic sequin-covered bodice and a flowy skirt made with layers of pink silk and sheer tulle. Complementing the ensemble, she wore peep-toe heels by Manolo Blahnik, a small glittery bag, and dainty drop earrings by Taffin Jewelry.
When the Day to Night Barbie was released in the ’80s, it came with a reversible skirt and a few other items to make the transition between looks relatively easy for kids who bought the doll. It also came with a Barbie business card and credit card for the iconic doll.
The upcoming live-action movie based on the children’s favourite doll is slated to release in cinemas on July 21st, 2023.
