Prince Philip's former royal aide has claimed that he never confronted Diana unlike what's shown in 'The Crown'
A royal aide of the late Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth has come forward has come forward to discredit the latest season of Netflix’s royal drama The Crown.
According to the Queen's former press secretary Dickie Arbiter, the Duke of Edinburgh ‘never confronted’ his daughter-in-law Diana during a turbulent time in her marriage to King Charles.
Talking about a scene in the newly-released fifth season of The Crown in which Prince Philip is shown to confront Princess Diana about recording tapes for Andrew Morton’s explosive book on her, Dickie said it never happened.
“It certainly didn't happen,” he said, adding, “He (Prince Philip) did read the book after it was published but he never confronted Diana about it.”
Dickie also went on to rubbish The Crown’s suggestion about a romance between Prince Philip and his close friend Penny Knatchbull, calling it ‘absolute nonsense’.
