Ariana Grande revealed that she has tested positive for COVID-19, sharing the news just as the Wicked: For Good press tour winds down.

The singer and actress posted a photo from her Nov. 18 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to her Instagram Stories and added the caption, “moments before Covid.”

Shortly after her post, Variety reported that Grande has withdrawn from several scheduled appearances, including her guest spot on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

She will also miss upcoming Q&A panels for Wicked: For Good, though her co-star Cynthia Erivo will still appear on Clarkson’s show as planned.

Grande’s announcement arrived only days after both she and Erivo skipped most interviews at the film’s New York City premiere on Nov. 17.

Before the event, Universal Pictures confirmed that Erivo was unwell and had lost her voice.

The pair still walked the red carpet and briefly joined a livestream, where Grande joked that she was “not letting [Erivo] speak,” while Erivo managed to add a few words in a raspy tone.

The COVID news marks yet another challenge for the movie’s press run.

Earlier this month, Grande was unable to attend the São Paulo premiere on Nov. 4 due to a “safety issue” involving her plane.

And during promotion for the first Wicked film in 2024, both stars revealed they had caught COVID days before shooting what Grande described to The New York Times as “some of the most important works of the whole movie.”

Erivo recently updated fans on her condition during her own Tonight Show appearance on Nov. 19, saying her voice was “still missing in action, but she’s there,” and joking that the lower, quieter tone was “kind of sexy.”

Wicked: For Good arrives in theaters on Nov. 21.
