Ruben Fleischer, director of Now You See Me, has opened about the tragic end of one of the characters in the franchise.
In the new sequel Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, one of the characters has met a tragic end as he got shot during a raid at The Eye’s estate.
One of the former magicians and debunker "Thaddeus", played by Morgan Freeman, has died in the third sequel of film series.
However, fans were wondering that it may be a magic trick and the character might appear in the later sequels.
But the Ruben has killed all the hopes by confirming that Thaddeus has actually died.
In a chat with Entertainment Weekly, the Venom director added, “We thought about it, but it felt like maybe it would undermine the cause of the Horsemen.”
Fleischer added, “Because we toyed with the idea, maybe at the end he's playing with his grandchildren doing a magic trick or something like that.”
The makers thought to make Veronika look bad as she is perceived. They killed Thaddeus as they thought it was the right thing to do.
“But we chose not to, just to allow for Veronika truly to be as bad as she's perceived. Morgan felt like it was the right thing to do, so I wouldn't have done it if he felt otherwise”, explained the director.
Now You See Me 3 reunites Morgan with Jesse Eisenbegr, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Woody Harrelson.
