Ariana Grande reflects on nerve-wrecking challenge in ‘Wicked: For Good’

Ariana Grande looked back on one of the most stressful moments of Wicked: For Good.

While both the films, part one and two, were filmed simultaneously, the sequel had one twist that the first one didn’t.

Grande and Cynthia Erivo, the leading actress, had one original song for their characters.

Reported by GoldBerry magazine, while Grande called it "the privilege of a lifetime" to perform a new song from Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz, she also admitted that "there was a scary element" to the prospect of debuting the new tune, The Girl in the Bubble.

"To be trusted with that was all of the right kinds of nerve-wracking and also just such an honour," she said in a press conference with journalists on Sunday.

"But what I love most about it is that it is such a narrative piece for [Glinda]," she added while describing the song.

"I'm so glad that we get to see her experience that moment of change, to make that choice, to begin the chapter of being truly good — not performing goodness, not a facade of goodness, but to put down the wand and actually become truly good."

Ariana said that song gave Glinda a rare chance to "To see that moment is a gift."

The actress/singer also appreciated the fact that the song also gave her bit more range from vocal aspect as well.

"I love that she's singing a little bit differently in it," Grande continued. "It's like halfway through the song after she looks down the closet and sees all of her memories from easier, pure times, she really opens up and sings vocally in a way that sounds like her guard is down."

Wicked: For Good, follows aftermath of Glinda (Grande) and Elphaba (Erivo) decisions and choices at the end of part one.

The film is set to release on November 21.
