Dwyane Johnson has made a confession following the release of his sports drama film, The Smashing Machine.
The Rock played UFC fighter Mark Kerr in the 2025 American biographical film.
Even though, the movie did not perform at the box office, but it somehow brought a turning point in the Jumanji actor’s career.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter Podcast, Johnson opened that the film completely changed his life in ways he did not even anticipate especially because of what it represents.
The Fast & Furious actor "It represents, for me, listening to your gut, to your instinct, to that little voice. Sometimes in life, you think you’re capable of something, but you don’t quite know.”
“And sometimes it takes people around you to go: ‘Come on, you could do this.”
Dwayne further confessed that the Smashing Machine brought in a turning point in his career that heh had been waiting for a long time.
He opened, "Smashing Machine also represents a turning point in my career that I’ve wanted for a long time: for the first time in my career.”
“20 plus years since The Scorpion King came out - I made a film to challenge myself and to really rip myself open and to go elsewhere and disappear and transform”, said the Central Intelligence star.
Directed by Benny Safdie, The Smashing Machine also features Emily Blunt, Ryan Badar, Bas Rutten and Oleksandr Usyk.
