Stephen King’s"It" novel has just got a series by the name Welcome to Derry.
Backed by HBO Max, the show highlights the origin story of the Pennywise, the dancing clown, played by Bill Skarsgård.
So far, three episodes have been released, and fans are absolutely loving the jump scares and bloodshed while experiencing goosebumps.
Amid the successful run of the three episodes, creator Andy Muschietti has revealed the main purpose behind the show.
According to him, Welcome to Derry is going to answer three major questions that remained unanswered in the novel and in the two movies.
The questions are, "What is It? What does It want? And why is It in this plane of existence?"
"I think that Stephen King purposely creates an unfinished puzzle, and those questions are the engine. These big questions are the engine of the book, and they're at the heart of the book."
"There's a big mystery because of those big question marks that are never solved”, added Muschietti.
Considering that there are plans to make three seasons of the show, each part will answer these questions by the end.
As per Andy, Welcome to Derry has been created to "reveal the iceberg under the water over the course of the three seasons, and we will talk about a bigger mythology that is connected to the other work of Stephen King."
Episode 3 of Welcome to Derry finally showcases Pennywise terrorizing kids.
