Colin Farrell's new psychological thriller is now streaming on Netflix

Colin Farrell has unveiled about the toll his complexed character Lord Doyle in Ballad of A Small Player had on him.

Backed by Netflix, the upcoming psychological thriller revolves around a gambler who is running from his past and debts amid the glittering casinos of Macau.

He finds himself getting fascinated by an enigmatic woman at the Baccarat table.

This is another unusual character Colin will be playing besides the portrayal of Oz Cobb in Penguin series.

As per the Irish actor, his intense character in the film left him "wrecked" each day after filming.

“I was wrecked by the end of every day – but utterly fulfilled.”

In a statement, the Academy Award nominee said, “You don’t want to talk about it being hard because I live in the world, I see how hard it is – I know, I’ve seen my pay cheque, all that stuff.”

“Having said all that, if you give yourself over to the script as you should, and to the situations, I was pretty raw by the end of it”, Farrell told Metro.

Meanwhile, he further explained that even the crew members working on the forthcoming movie were all “battered” towards the end of the filming.

Directed by Edward Berger, Ballad of A Small Player is now streaming on Netflix.
