Sydney Sweeney set the record very straight about her relationship with her Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell after his breakup with Gigi Paris.
Putting the romance rumours to rest once and for all the Euphoria star firmly stated that she and Powell, 37, are good friends and enjoys each other's company.
"Glen and I genuinely care for each other and have a love and respect for one another," she told Variety in an interview published on Monday, October 27.
"I love being with him. And I think people just truly saw a really beautiful pairing," added Sweeney, who is reportedly dating Justin Bieber’s former manager and Taylor Swift’s longtime nemesis Scooter Braun.
"Honestly, the press did it themselves," The White Lotus alum said, addressing whether she and the Twisters actor leaned into romance rumours while promoting the Will Gluck-directed film. "There was no leaning in, per se."
Sweeney’s comments came after Paris recently opened up about her split with Powell, admitting that she was "shattered" by his and Sweeney’s alleged romance whispers when she decided to part ways from the Hit Man star.
The model also called out her ex for not ever addressing the chatter or saying he "would never cheat on [his] girlfriend."
"That’s all that needed to be said. And that wasn’t said. Never once," the influencer continued, saying that Powell and Sweeney leaned into the rumours for PR.
For the unversed, in 2023, the The Housemaid actress and Powell’s on-screen and off-screen chemistry had fans speculating the duo were romantically involved despite Sweeney being engaged to her now ex-Jonathan Davino and the actor dating his now ex-girlfriend.
Powell and Paris split during the filming of the 2023 rom-com movie, further fueling the rumour mill.
