Task starring Mark Ruffalo has just came to an end with the premiere of seventh and final episode.
The crime drama revolves around an FBI agent heading a Task force to put an end to a string of vicious robberies led by an unsuspicious family man.
The finale episode of the HBO backed series has left fans emotional as Ruffalo’s character Tom Brandis provoked really powerful emotions diverting viewers’ attention from the main plotline involving cops, robbers and the biker gang.
Task’s finale showcased former priest Brandis facing his adopted son Ethan in court.
The curtain drops where the FBI agent reads a poignant letter during his son’s parole hearing with his voice cracking.
The scene took Mark seven months of filming of Task to ponder and practice as it was the most important and challenging part of the show for him.
He told USA Today, "That's a big chunk of letter-reading. But by the time we're there, the show had earned this moment.”
The Now You See Me star believed that more simple he will keep the more powerful it would be. "And on the day, it told (me) what it needed to be”, he added.
According to Ruffalo, Task delivers 100% on the genre while having all twist and turns.
He explained, "But while Brad masters the crime, he takes these dives into people's complexity and their lives within the framework of law and order. These people are so human."
Created by Brad Ingelsby, Task features Mark along with Tom Pelphrey, Alison Oliver, Martha Plimpton and Emilia Jones.
