Timothee Chalamet desperately wanted THIS actress to star in his new movie

Timothee Chalamet has recently revealed Gwyneth Paltrow was not his first choice for their latest movie, Marty Supreme.

According to Radar Online, it is reported that the Wonka star desperately wanted Julia Roberts to play his love interest in Josh Safdie directed movie.

However, the Notting Hill actress had reservations about the role mainly because of 28-year age gap between herself and Timothee.

An insider told Daily Mail, “Julia was offered the role. She wanted to work with Timothee, but she turned down the role after reading the script which she loved.”

“She just didn't think audiences would buy her playing a romantic interest to someone who's so much younger,” explained a source.

The movie’s producers including Timothee “tried their best to convince” Julia that she and the actor “would gel on screen” and even they kept increasing her offer that came close to $20million, but Pretty Woman actress’ answer was still a “firm no”.

Another source spilled to the outlet, “The character on paper to Josh was something Julia would do incredibly in, but although she believed in the script and loves Timothee's work, she didn't connect with it enough to see herself in the role.”

“And from seeing the trailer, Julia still believes she made the right decision and that Gwyneth is going to crush it,” added an insider.

Meanwhile, Gwyneth, who broke her acting break with this movie, shared she signed up this movie because of her daughter, Apple Martin.

“Gwyneth signed on to co-star with Timothee thanks to her daughter, who has had a crush on the Dune star for years,” disclosed an insider.

Interestingly, the Iron Man actress informed Apple that Timothee is not only a producer but also the lead actor, “she pleaded with her mom to accept,” stated a source.
