Robert Pattison finds simple roles tough after playing dark characters

Robert Pattinson revealed that he is having hard time shifting gears after playing freaks to play ordinary characters.

Pattinson, who stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the upcoming film Die My Love, has played in number of dark characters, like Edward Cullen in Twilight, Thomas Howard in The Lighthouse, the brooding Bruce Wayne in The Batman or Mikey Barnes in Mickey 17.

In an interview with the Icon magazine, the Harry Potter star talked about the struggle of moulding into characters of more standard behaviour as he promoted his new movie with Lawrence.

"At one point, I really wanted to play some normal guys," Pattinson said. "And it’s actually kind of difficult to play a normal person when you’re used to playing freaks and stuff."

As hinted above that the upcoming role is a far cry from his previous work, Pattinson earlier this year, talked about having a difficult time to improvise dancing on cue with the actress.

"They just find it so easy, and they're like 'Just dance, it's just music playing, just dance,'" he told GQ. "And I'm like, 'I'm telling you, I'm going to have a mental breakdown when this happens. We need to either choreograph it or cut it.' And they're like, 'Just dance, stop being a freak.'"

Die My Love, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival in May, follows Grace (Lawrence) and Jackson (Pattinson), spending time in a secluded home in Montana as Grace struggles with her mental health.

The official synopsis of the film states, "Grace, a writer and young mother, is slowly slipping into madness. Locked away in an old house in and around Montana, we see her acting increasingly agitated and erratic, leaving her companion, Jackson, increasingly worried and helpless."

Die My Love is slated for release on November 7.
